SUMA serves as the collective voice of urban government (cities, towns, villages, resort villages, and northern municipalities), ensuring that the interests of members are represented to other orders of government (provincial and federal).
SUMA provides a Legal Services program to help administrators, city managers and chief administrative officers, and to keep municipal members up to date on decisions and trends in municipal law. Members have access to a "first call" service, legal resources and analysis, and a referral service to suggest law firms experienced in municipal law issues. Our Policy and Legal Advisor Steven Dribnenki has handled more than 450 legal requests since the program launched in 2014, and those services alone have a value of more than $117,250 for members. If you have a legal question, you can contact Steven at 306-525-4389.
