Canada and Saskatchewan invest $86 million in 85 projects across the Province

14 Saskatchewan communities to receive RInC funding
The first projects funded in Saskatchewan under the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) Fund were announced on June 5. New Municipal Affairs Minister
Premier Brad Wall announced a cabinet shuffle on May 29 and along with it a new Municipal Affairs Minister. Jeremy Harrison is a former Member of Parliament, and the MLA for Meadow Lake.  Harrison takes over for Bill Hutchinson, whose portfolio now includes First Nations and Métis Relations, Northern Affairs and the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation.

CMHC announces Municipal Infrastructure Lending Program
In April 2009, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) launched the $2 billion
Municipal Infrastructure Lending Program announced in the 2009 federal budget.  The program will provide low-interest loans for municipal infrastructure projects, with the objective to help municipalities meet the one-third cost-sharing requirement to access federal infrastructure funds.
